Marcelo Bielsa’s comments on Leeds’ transfer business being done and dusted hints that his side are going to be in for quite a quiet deadline day.
However, that doesn’t mean that January 31st won’t be a pivotal date in United’s season.
While the Yorkshire club doesn’t look likely to be too active on Friday, their promotion rivals do, and deals that either get done or fall through will have a huge effect on Leeds’ fate.
Fulham look to be in for Aston Villa’s Jota on loan, and his addition would add another dangerous element to an already stacked frontline. He’s been brilliant on a regular basis in the Championship, with his best season seeing him net 12 goals in 21 games for Brentford.

Nottingham Forest are another side with a lot of work to do before the window closes. Luke Freeman could well be on his way to the City Ground, while they may also be bolstering their defence with the addition of Gaetan Bong.
West Brom have been off the boil in recent weeks, so they’re looking to get back on track by signing some more attacking talent with Mislav Orsic, Kamil Grosicki and Bright Osayi-Samuel (The Sun 29/1/20 page 56) all linked.
The three teams around Leeds look set to be involved in the deadline day scramble, and whether or not they can get these deals over the line may be decisive in their quest to pip Bielsa’s men to a spot in the top two.
Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani may have their feet up relaxing on deadline day, but they may become rather worried if their Championship rivals add some extra quality to their ranks before the close of play.
